Battery and alternator questions

My battery just died and I'm about to buy a new one.
Does anyone know what's the alternator/generator Amps of the 1999 3500 V6 model?
What would be the right battery for the alternator output?

How many batteries do you have in your car?
Best choise will be AGM battery Optima 5.5L yellow.

If the price is too high for you buy any 80a/h battery.

Что я не так сказал? 60 в любом случае считаю слабой батарейкой, но сам отъездил 5 лет на двух 60тках, купленных у оф. дилера тоета, от крузака.
ПРо генератора не писал не знаю.

I found the Banner UniBull 80Ah, as seen here
Optima Yellow is maybe the best, but it's too expensive (nearly 350 euros) and I need a new battery as soon as possible cause I'm leaving for an excursion for the weekend
So, I guess my generator will have no problem charging the 80Ah battery...

Troll - actually it doesn't matter battery of what capacity you'll install in you car. The only limit is the size of the placehold under the hood. If you have an electric winch it should be at least 90-100Ah.
And you shouldn't care about alternator until you have a lot of permanent electric consumers like additional headlights (6 and more bulbs) or ultra-high-power sound system.
While your battery is fully charged it won't make much load for alternator.

And if you don't have winch, and, I guess, your ambient temperature won't go below -10 degrees Centigrade - a 60Ah battery will perfectly fit your demands

As a matter of fact I'm thinking of fitting 4 spots on a roof bar.
I don't have a winch though, or a High-power sound system.

What's the purpose of the dual battery set-up? Is it for electrical winch use only, or there's something else except that?

I think you have strict limitation in power of spots in EU, so 4x55W is not that much, if you're not going to use them for a long time with your engine stopped. And if you'll install HID bulbs - it would be much more light and less power.

Dual battery is very useful in cold winter, esp. when you have Webasto installed, since it drains a lot of electrical power.

There's no other points.

Though it's some times a good reason for debates if they have any influence on each other.

Во, а еще говорят, что в у нас ОПТИМА YT/BT 5.5L 75Ач дорогая, в Греции вон в переводе на деревянные больше 12 тыщ, а в Москве 8500р.
Так что кому надо, налетай
